Started as a kid on father’s C64 with Accolade’s “Grand-Prix Circuit” and “Test Drive”, then Papyrus’ “Indianapolis 500” and Microprose “Formula-One Grand-Prix” on the Amiga. In 1996 I moved to PC gaming with “Grand-Prix 2” (Microprose) and “IndyCar Racing 1 & 2” (Papyrus). I also got my first wheel, a Thrustmaster T2.
In the early 2000’s I wasn’t that active anymore, although I had almost all good sims of that time (all SimBin titles, Grand-Prix 3 & 4, CART Precision Racing, Need for Speed Porsche, Gran Turismo 4, F1 Challenge 99 – 02, etc.) but when I started playing World of Warcraft in 2005, I just didn’t have enough time for racing :-[ (could I only turn back time…).
In 2012 I made my “comeback” with serious simracing by subscribing to iRacing. Prior to that, I played a lot Gran Turismo 5.
Beside that I have some real life track experience from open track days at Oschersleben, Bilster Berg Drive Resort and Contidrom. But no real life reacing beside some karting. Was also an active RC-Car racer as a teenager (still have all of my RC-Cars in the garage).
